What is
Erectile Dysfunction (ED)?
ED is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection firm enough for penetration and sustained through orgasm.
ED can be psychological OR due to organic reasons like restricted blood flow, hormonal imbalances, or neurological problems.
Prevalence of ED
ED affects a lot of men and increases with age - 40% men at age 40 had some degree of ED, 50% at 50, 60% at 60 and 70% at 70.
“33% of men with ED have suffered from depression and 37% report anxiety issues”.
ED can negatively impact the quality of a couple’s relationship.
Quality of life scores are significantly impaired in men who suffer from sexual dysfunction.

India Specific Statistics
Surprising connection between ED & heart disease
There is a strong link between ED and cardiovascular disease
Many risk factors for ED & heart disease are almost identical → high blood pressure, diabetes, abnormal lipids, and smoking.
Many studies say that if you get ED today, 15% of those men will get a heart attack or stroke within the next 7 years.
Current Framework for Solving ED
Using medications like sildenafil for symptom relief.
If medicines stop working, more complex procedures are used like penile injections, vacuum erection devices, implants and surgery.
ED is not treated in a holistic manner with deep testing, understanding root causes, and appreciating its impact on future health.
APOE’s Longevity-Based Solution to Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
At APOE, we don’t treat ED as an isolated issue. We see it as an early warning sign - a symptom of the aging process that also drives chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
By targeting the root causes of aging, our Longevity Framework offers a more sustainable and science-backed solution. We focus on extending not just lifespan, but healthspan and sexspan - how well you live, not just how long.
-
We assess your genes, hormones, metabolism, and gut to uncover what’s really driving the dysfunction.
-
Our doctors identify the primary imbalances behind your symptoms - not just the ED, but what’s aging your system.
-
We build a targeted protocol to improve sexual health, reverse metabolic decline, and reduce long-term risks like heart disease and stroke.
Protocols are graded

I had to get an angioplasty in my late 20s due to major artery blockages, and since then I’ve been on statins for over 20 years. While they helped, I was always aware of the side effects that come with long-term use. I started looking for something more holistic - something that looked at the bigger picture. That’s when I came across APOE. What really struck me was how they didn’t just focus on symptoms. They took the time to understand everything that was going on with me, connected the dots, and built a plan that made sense, combining lifestyle changes with medical support where needed. It’s been a year now, and I genuinely feel like I’m on a better path with my health. - Apoe Member, 48 year old male (Gurgaon, India)

I was a fairly healthy individual who started noticing mild chest pains that came and went. I got a bit worried about and got an ECG and Echo test done based on my doctor’s recommendation. Everything was normal, but something kept nagging me and I wanted to make sure nothing was getting missed. That’s when a friend told me about APOE I got interested in their “whole body testing” approach before making a diagnosis and starting a treatment. They ran genetic tests and found I had a high risk for cardiovascular disease. On top of that, my Lp(a) levels were elevated, a dangerous lipoprotein linked to sudden heart attacks. APOE medical team made me understand the connection between metabolic health, lipid profiles, heart disease and strokes. Using this overall view, they drafted a protocol for me that could help solve my immediate problem of chest pains while also addressing my long-term health risks. - Apoe Member, 46 year old male (Hyderabad, India)

I’ve always been active, ate home-cooked meals, practiced yoga and meditation, and kept up with annual health checkups. Still, after 40, I developed thyroid issues, needed cholesterol medication by 50, and became pre-diabetic after 55. Like many others, my family doctor reassured me this was just part of the "normal aging process." But I always wondered - why was this happening despite healthy habits and no family history of diabetes? What forced me to get help was the nagging and worsening knee pain affecting my daily life. That’s when I was introduced to APOE’s medical team, initially to address the knee pain. But what I discovered was a whole new world of medical science focused on treating what we usually accept as “normal aging.” The APOE founders were incredibly patient and walked me through the process in detail. My test results revealed three major health risks, most shockingly, a 70% blockage in my LCX artery, despite having no symptoms. Once the immediate cardiovascular risk was managed, we focused on building a plan to improve bone density and muscle mass to support my knees. The approach has been structured exercise, nutrition, better sleep, hormone balancing, and targeted supplements. Now, I’m even considering advanced therapies like hyperbaric oxygen, cryotherapy, and others to support long-term health. Looking back, I can confidently say that APOE’s holistic and science-backed approach didn’t just ease my knee pain, it possibly saved my life and transformed the way I understand aging and health. I feel stronger, clearer, and more in control of my future. - Apoe Member, 59 year old female (Odisha, India)

APOE takes a unified, holistic view of the entire person before recommending a solution. We do this because treating an isolated symptom is quick and easy, but the patient does not get a long term cure. Our longevity framework looks at the entire body as one unit and identifies the root cause of the problem. We can only do this when the overall set of test results are available to the medical team.

A lot of men suffer in silence due to the stigma around this treatable condition. Clinicians generally do not bring it up on their own. That said, an increasing number of doctors are talking about it and it is just a matter of time that it becomes a part of routine annual physical exams.

Yes, several studies have shown that ED is the early sign for heart attacks and strokes. ED is primarily caused by a lack of blood flow to the penis and lower blood flow is usually due to the formation of arterial plaques. Since penile arteries are very narrow in diameter (~2mm), they are the first to get affected. Then, over the next few years, you have coronary arteries getting affected leading to a heart attack.

You are right that our protocols take a lot more time than just popping a pill. We are not against popping pills, provided that it is a long term cure that addresses the root cause. Unfortunately, with most chronic diseases like ED, pills might provide temporary symptom relief but not address the deeper pathologies and associated conditions.

Yes, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that a longevity framework, which includes diet, exercise, sleep, supplements, medications, hormone balancing and other techniques are very effective in addressing chronic conditions including ED. Check our list of references to know more on this topic.

This really depends on the individual, how long the disease has been in place and if other associated conditions like diabetes are contributing to the problem. That said, most of our patients start seeing improvements in 3-6 months.

It’s both. We combine medical diagnostics with targeted lifestyle and supplement protocols.
